(Querist) 05 April 2014 This query is : Resolved
Sir,

Alreday registered a birthdate to birth registration office without mentioned name.It based upon concerned authority issuing a birth certificate without name. Now what happened I and what is the procedure to add a name in my birth certificate. Please suggest me.

Apply for a duplicate one with name added therein.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 06 April 2014
I think there is no provision to make an addition or alteration to the registration of birth and death without the court order, contact the birth and death authorities in your locality and if need be, with the help of a local advocate, proceed accordingly.
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 06 April 2014
You can file a fresh application along with the declaration by the parents and other documents, the authorities will issue a fresh birth certificate by including the name of the child.
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 06 April 2014
Approach the Registrar of Birth and Death, move a fresh application, state all the facts and obtain new certificate after cancellation of this certificate. Seek local professional services.
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 06 April 2014
You can submit a duly attested affidavit and application to the registrar for adding the name in your birth record. May submit other document if required by them in addition.

After adding of the name you can get birth certificate issued which would be containing name.
P. Venu (Expert) 06 April 2014
According to Section 14 of the Registration of Births & Deaths Act, name of the child could be added subsequent to the registration of birth.

"14. Where the birth of any child has been registered without a name, the parent or guardian of such child shall within the prescribed period give information regarding the name of the child to the registrar either orally or in writing and thereupon the Registrar shall enter such a
name in the register and initial and date the entry."

agree with Mr venu
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 06 April 2014
Expert Mr. Venu's suggestion seems to be practicable, just give a try, if you are well within the prescribed time limit for the purpose.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 15 April 2014
