Need help

(Querist) 12 October 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi Sir/Madam,

I have purchased a flat at Andhra Pradesh in the year 1999, with 2 bedroom,1 kitchen,1 balcony,1 hall and 2 bathrooms.I would like to know recently in our Apartment Meeting they have said anyone who is having more than 1 vehicles are said to pay extra amount of 400-500 INR. I would like to know is this is true as per Apartment and Flat Owners Law in Andhra Pradesh, we stay in Hyderabad.

What is the purpose of purchasing flat if we can`t keep vehicle,it is our wish how many vehicles we can keep based on our need.

Please let us know.

Does the flat include exclusive/reserve parking slot? If yes and you have made lump sum payment, it donot attract additional/extra amount to be paid, otherwise, the parking is made available from and out of common area and you will have to pay as decided by members (AGM).

You can enjoy flat purchased by you, parking is managed by association from common area, for which it is justified charging extra as per bye laws / AGM resolution.

Whether your Flat Owners Association is registered one or not? If it registered one, look into the bye-laws and if the demand is as per the bye-laws, you will have to pay the parking fee as decided by the Committee. If it is unregistered one, you simply ignore and park your vehicles in the slot allotted to you.

You may refer to the bye-laws of the association as well as to the resolutions made in the AGM of the association in this regard which will clear your doubts.
