hi, my rent agreement was upto 14.11.2011, i vacate the house on 13.11.2011 and paid electricity bill on 15.11.2011 as per actual meter reading. now my land lord is not coming to collect the keys and refund my security instead of many request on telephone. yesterday he told me that you have to pay electricity bill till date because house is vacate till now. pl. help me and guide me

Dear Suman,
Though your rental agreement has expired on 14/11,and you have vacated a day before the expiry,the landlord has not taken possession of the premises till now.What would be the reason or what would be in his mind? Were your relations cordial at the time of your occupation of the house?.Though you have vacated the house within the agreement period,you have not officially handed him the premises,though it my the landlord's fault.Logically I think you should pay the power bills,to avoid conflict.Still I feel you have not come out with the actual fact.No landlord will keep the house vacant for 5 months.
