I am residing in Bangalore. One of my sisters is a US citizen. we are 3 brothers and 3 sisters. All of us want to sign a memorandum of partition relating to our ancestral (intestate) property situated in Andhra Pradesh. The sisiter(US citizen) is now in Bangalore and wants to give me a POA for signing the partition of the above property on her behalf. Is it OK if I get the POA Notarised at Bangalore? Or is it preferable to get it done in Andhra Pradesh? Is it necessary to register it either at Bangalore or in Andhra Pradesh? Why should it be registered at all?, if so Under what Act it is Mandetory? Can I have a format of the usual POA in such cases? Please reply

The POA needs to be registered preferably at the place where the properties in question situate.
For format engage an advocate.

For further requirement on law point read Indian Registration Act carefully.

Registration of POA can also be done at the ordinary place of residence of Principal.
