Passport renewal

Hi,
I had a valid passport which expired last month.I am married , but my spouse name was not added in my old passport.
I am having some marriage issue with my husband and I am staying at my parents place from the past 1 year.
In what category I should file my passport : Married or separated.

Do as you suggested in serial no.8.
That is best to avoid any problems

But after my passport work is done.Is there a way to make changes in Marriage certificate to add surnames?Its been 8 years in my marriage.

Ask your self if you really need these changes.

You can definitely add the sirname after marriage but only through the passport office.
