To: Mr. Sudhir Kumar
Sir,
I have been bailed out for Rs. 30,000/- and next day paid 50,000/- for getting the connection back. I am using Solar Power for my other needs and only a FAN, TV and 4 feet refrigerator is connect to electricity.
I have never been given even a day to pay the fine as I was out and landed in Mumbai at 2030 hrs after which there was an immediate arrest.
Is this what you called law?
As per Electricity Act 2003, they should charged me max for 12 months (I don't know on what basis) and a compounding of 4000/- for residential purpose. Moreover in last 25 years we have consumed only 26,644 units till date and the BEST is has filed a complaint for the theft of 8,642 units, this is insane.
Tomorrow they can suspect any thing. I don't think so this is lawful.
Please Reply
1. Was it lawful to file an FIR and arrest me for the crime I have not done without giving me any opportunity to pay their desired charges.
2. What should be the charges I have to pay, can my bills for last 12 months or next 12 months be referred.
3. Was their entering my house without lady police correct?
4. How do I fight back.
FYI I am a scientist Ph.D not Doctor of Medicine.
I hope you understand my points so please reply them separately.
Thanking you once again for you valuable support
regards,
Dr. Asgar

1. If there is prima facie evidence of tampering with the electricity meter, FIR can be registered.
2. You have to pay Bills as per the penalty charges.
3.Yes if sunset has not set in.
4.Contest the case on merit.

Dr. Asgar, all your questions can be raised in the court where the case is likely to be taken on file, if you feel injustice done to you by way of wrong FIR and other atrocities, you have remedy before the court where you can challenge each and every issue properly, also kindly avoid posting the same queries repeatedly in different threads.
