Procedure to register the marriage performed under Hindu Marriage Act - The Registration of Marriage will be done by the Registrar of Marriages (Normally the Sub Registrar who registers the property documents). You will have to approach the concerned Sub Registrar's Office wherein the Bride or Bridegroom resides. The important requirements are:
1. Wedding Card.
2. Marriage Photo
3. Two witnesses (preferably one parent from Bride and one parent from Bridegroom - this is optional. Anybody can be witness).
4. Nominal Registration Fee (Ascertain from SRO).
5. You should apply for registration within a specified period so that no notice is required and the registration will be done instantly.
