First appeal rti

(Querist) 26 June 2024 This query is : Resolved
During the hearing of the RTI first appeal, the RTI officer asks the applicant to sign a paper.

Can the applicant just sign on that paper or can he also write any kind of comments on it?
kavksatyanarayana (Expert) 26 June 2024
The paper is a deposition recorded by the officer during the case hearing, so it can be signed in that situation. But you do not sign on a blank paper.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 26 June 2024
Yes, as rightly suggested you may avoid signing the paper without reading and properly understanding the contents besides, don't ever sign a blank paper.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 27 June 2024
your query is vague. what is that paper?
P. Venu (Expert) 23 July 2024
The query is less than convincing. It is seldom the case that hearing take place in a First Appeal under RTI Act.
