Fraud by job consultancy

Hi,
My name is Prashant. A job consultancy in UP Gaziabad S.C services pvt. ltd. has charged a registration fee of 3100 from me on the promise that they will place me in a reputed company, however now they are saying that there is some issue with the company and are postponing the interview and finally saying that they can only give a job in some low class company. What action can I take against them. Does it come under Consumer fraud or Criminal fraud. I'm not concerned about my money, but I dont want other poor people to fall under there pray.

You can file case in the consumer forum.
Criminal complaint of cheating can also be done.

All most all job consulting companies are initially collecting such an amount, towards registration fees and issued a receipt for that transaction. After registration, they will suggest you some companies and will arrange interviews also. So it will take some time. If you are not satisfied for their services, ask them to return back your money, in writing. Better to get some written information from them. Then only you could establish your case.

You should see the conditions of placement and the one offered to you at the time of enrolling your membership, if it contradicts to their present attitude, you may seek to initiate legal action as envisaged.
