Getting RTI reply before than 30 days ????

Guest (Querist) 12 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
PIO give reply to the RTI applications ,which can be replied even in a single day,so can you suggest some drastic measures so that we can receive replies earlier than a 30 days prescribed period i.e. in one or two weeks??

Should we add in our application ????---

Kindly provide the each and every movement details of this RTI application till its disposal.

Kindly provide the provision of punishment available for officials deliberately delaying the disposal of matter.

Can you suggest some thing from your valuable knowledge, intellect and experience ??

Thanks in advance .

well, there are no parameters to presume the officer concerned is denying the information deliberately. however, in order to avoid denial of information and delay a statutory period of 30 days has been provided.

moreover, sometimes the information is sought from a distant place or it is required to be brought from some distant office so 30 days period is genuine enough.

read the act carefully, your purpose will be solved.

In my experience I found replies for RTI queries by any PIO are meticulously dated to escape from the penalties imposed by the enactment.
