Giving power of attorney to wife

(Querist) 21 December 2012 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I am a Muslim living in Kerala and would like to change my property in my wife's name.

Which is the best option from below ?

1. should i give the Power of Attorney to my wife ?

2. should I register which will cost me 12% tax.

Also if I give power of Attorney to my wife In case of my death will it go to her instead of my brothers.

If you have any suggestion it is welcome.

Thanks & Regards

smil

Aforesaid property its own and self earned property you can do either gift or will.

I disagree with Sheik. Being Muslim, you cannot make will more than 1/3 share of your property without the consent of other legal heirs of your property including your brothers.

You have not given the details of your family so no concrete shares of all those may be described on [resumption.

If all other family members of you are agree in writing only then you can get registered entire property in the name of your wife by way of a will.
