How to encash draft in name of minor

A mother has received a demand draft in name of her 8 yr old child ten days ago as maintenance of child from his father in court .How can it be encashed by mother now ?

She can open an account in the name of the child where mother would operate the account as the guardian of the child.

why do not you contact the bank. It is legal forum and you query is on the day to day procedure of the banks which bank clerks know batter.

Now bank accounts of minors are being opened by banks so get it done and deposit the DD therein.

the query is on procedure adopted in bank and not on point of law. The querist (unless having more facts) is free to meet bank manager and at times such queries are replied by Sr peons of the bank at inquiry counter in any case any clerk can answer.
