I want to go for hunger strike against police department since favouring the accused and not filing charge sheet. Do I need to take permission from police to go for hunger strike and what section applies.

Consult lawyer for dealing the same.You can file a petition at High Court for direction to the police.

Filing of charge sheet takes time. Your lawyer may pray Court for expedition.

For Hunger strike take permission from District Administration and Police.

Purpose of hunger strike is not to gather sympathy of public or to propaganda among society. If you do so it is immoral, Offence and emotional blackmail of public and police. It is undue force upon police. May by your case poor or even false or the police may be helpless or fain in getting any sound proof. Hunger strike is to accept death for cause and to die, no permission of any body required. You can do it at your home without saying any body any thing. But no no no. It is not your object. We can not advise you to do illegal work and it is offence under IPC.

In no way I want to gain sympathy rather for justice as police is deliberately supporting the accused and not taking evidence in investigation. Now what remedy left with the victim.

Police are in the habit of prlonging the issue so as to see compromise.Seldom take action to file charge sheet. So your concern is.genuine and such sort of hunger strikes will be an eye-opener for lackadaisical attitude in the department.Yet, give prior intimation about your proposed action to the police and revenue athorities.

Dr jc whereas I came to know without permission from police authorities one cannot go for hunger strike and if police refused than needs to approach court to issue direction to police
