IPL Matches

(Querist) 16 March 2010 This query is : Resolved
IPL cricket matches is a big distraction to many especially to student community. Government took a decision last year to even shift these games to South Africa due to security reasons for the sake of general elections. How come it failed to realise the welfare of student community and importance of Public Exams for Std X and Std XII when these matches are conducted just for the sake of minting money by the Capitalists. Why can't Courts intervene and take Suo Moto action instructing the IPL organisers to consider postponement of matches at a later date for the sake of student community? Experts to offer their opinion

In Theory I am in agreement with you but who has invited all students there to see matches or take part therein. It is self discipline which matters and not the general atmosphere. Today one may allege IPL organizers and tomorrow to any film producer to produce any good movie during exam days and next day to any politician for organizing his rally during exam days and so on....

Student community should confine to their study these days. Otherwise also cricket is the generation of English rulers in their one time rules States.

Yes I take the point your honor. But I am of the opinion that any avoidable type of distractions to the student community should be taken care by the State. In our student days, we were totally focused on studies irrespective of the situation, but after the advent of modern technology, the present day innocent teenage students are always at the receiving end. Even banning of Political Rallies is not a bad option during the Examination time.

Not only the board examinees, it also distracts the attention of other students who take on their final exam this month. I visited one of my friend's house and his son was crying to watch the IPL exam even next day he had to take final exam. If you have watched the movie, "Hatrick" in which Nana Patekar acting as a doctor has commented when a bowler came for treatment with a cricket ball at his side, Nana took the ball in his hand and said, "Puri India ko yeh tumour ho gaya hain."
I agree that IPL programs should be scheduled in the manner that it should not have collided with the exam season.
