Law graduation at the age of 40, is it possible?

(Querist) 28 February 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear All,

I wish to study B.L or LLB at my age 40. As i understood that there is an age limit of 30 for a 3yrs course.

Is there any university/college that offers degree with no age limit?

Would it be advisable to choose distance learning?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Satish

no distance learning facilities available . as far as age limit is concerned better make enquires with your law colleges in your city to be on safer side , at present age limit is 30 years

yes.rightly advised by sri ajay sethiji. distance learning is an answer to your quest for education,if the age factor is not an issue for the universities.
Earlier days, annamalai university and kurukhetra univ.(if i remember right),both used to offer B.L EDUCATION BY POST.
but also u need to confirm whether distance learning LL.B graduates can practice and bar council allow them for practice.

Thanks Ajay & Rao. I have seen some where on the net that the age restriction has been lifted, and few colleges are allowing students over 40. However, i have no concrete information about it.

I am also searching for Distance learning. Thanks Rao for your valid point, i will check with BCI if they allow to practice.

In Andhra and Karnataka the age limit for studying BL is stayed. You can find a college, suitable for you. It is only full time not correspondence.
Satish (Querist) 02 March 2014
Sorry Mr.Arunagiri, Do you mean in AP and Karnataka the age limit is 30yrs? or it is no more?

A person cannot practise law on acquiring the law degree obtained by pursuing the distant education program of studies, it will be only in the academic interest and cannot solve professional career purpose.
Satish (Querist) 02 March 2014
Thanks you Mr. Selvan. So Distance learning is taken off from my option and will look for full time programe only.

bar council recognition is necassary for the college since you enrol with barcouncil to practice, after graduating in law.
