Maintainability of Writ against Metro Rail Corporation

Dear All,

The Metro Rail Corporation by getting the VIP treatment has been able to put in operation its trains and is having monopoly in this area. Admittedly the glitches are occuring in its operation time and again.

My question is whether a writ will be maintainable qua appointment of a regulator for the purposes of monitoring service conditions and keeping the customers compensated.

I do not think that the writ of the nature you are talking about would sustain.

No. It is a policy matter which can be decided by the rlys., the court cannot interfere.
As far as compensation is concerned, that will be according to the Railways Act.
