Mistake in 10th date of birth

Dear sir,
There was a mistke in my friends date of birth in 10th marksheet (his dob is different in 9th and 10th class bcz of mistake), which continued till engineering, now he is in govt job. After Army chief case, he is concerned whether he will lose his job or what. Kindly note that he no way benifited in gettig admission in engg or getting the govt job, with that mistake in his date of birth in 10th mark sheet.
kindly help with ur exper advice.

Your friend should file a civil suit and should accordingly got his date of birth amended/corrected as per his original birth record.

not an issue ..........it will be taken as per his 10th certificate....if thr were no birth certificate

If there is no repugnance,you can adopt the same throught your service.Otherwise you have to abide by Expert Raj's advise.

Thanks a lot sirs for the prompt reply, my friend must be bit relaxed now. He still has some questions:
1) what will happen if somebody reports to the govt that his 9th and 10th dob is different? will this cause him to loose his job or he will just have to file the civil suit and get the dob corrected.
2) Regarding civil suit, will this require that dob on all the documents (i.e 10th, 12th and B.Tech) require to be corrected separately or simply filing the civil suit in the court and getting the order from the court would be suffice?
3) how much will Civil suit cost and which court it should be filed.
