My phd guide mentally tortures and threatens me to destroy my career

Dear Experts,
I am a PhD scholar in delhi. I am very disturbed due to the behavior of my guide.
i take his work load (all the classes and labs). He do not take even a single lecture and not interested in my studies.
He do not give any guidance to me and trying to torture me in different ways.
Yesterday, he insulted me and threatened to destroy my career.

What should I do ?

You can't do anything, except to request the head of the department to change your guide.

There is no immediate or easy solution. You may take up the issue with the higher authorities.

Anyhow, no one can destroy or your career unless you are too willing to succumb.

Are U the real victim or a proxy?If the victim is a lady there are many avenues and ways and means to teach a lesson to the guide.

You would fall short of proofs, while proving and may not be able to complete your PhD afterwards. You can accept the harassment for some time in the name of career, take an oath never to harass your students afterwards.

A good piece of advice by expert Mr. Rajendra K Goyal.
Be aware that any legal action proposed to take against him may backfire and you may really stand to lose your carer if things go adverse against you due to this proposed action.
