Oral evidence definately has value. How much value is to be given to it depends upon facts and circumstances of the case and the crediability of the witness.

The court does not make any difference between oral and documentary evidence. Only in those cases where oral evidence is barred like testimony in relation to the contents of a agreement, the documents are needed. Otherwise it is oral evidence which determines the fate of a case and it is how the Law in most part of this planet works.

I agree with Advocate Archana. After all the Learned Court is there to decide how much value is to be given to it. Tallying of different witness' evidence is important.
