This query is : Resolved
Sir,
1. I am an Air Force employee & applied as an ex-serviceman in common written examination for clerical cadre 4 held in Dec 14 BY IBPS. I am an OBC candidate but due clerical error, internet cafe person while filling the online application has mentioned my category as General instead of OBC. This error is noticed by me on declaration of result.
I. DOB- 01.05.1978
II. Mob- 09359469429
III. E-Mail- chandraveer1978@yahoo.com
2. I requested IBPS telephonically and through email to consider my case and declare my result in OBC category. But they are denying to change it. Can something be done legally. If my category is changed to obc then i am pass but now they are showing me fail by 1 mark in general category. Pl advice.
Thanking You,
Yours Faithfully,
Chandraveer Singh

You can file a writ petition at High court.

in your application you have mentioned that you belong to general category .now that you have failed you want to labelled as OBC for said post .
your only option is to apply again when their is vacancy and correctly mention that you belong to OBC catgeory

Expert Mr.Ajay Sethi rightly pointed out and properly advised your query. People are smarter than us - remember this and apply next time. Even if you file a writ petition, it will take its own time and in the meanwhile next batch examinations will be held.

IBPS will declare the marks. based on the marks and community they will allot ranks.
but, if you want to change the community, which was entered wrongly, you can apply to them. If they do not consider, you can approach the High Court by Writ Petition.
But, you should not blame the IBPS, admit your mistake and pray for correction of the rank. You have a chance.

In my opinion, better don't waste your time on such unnecessary litigation, instead let this be a good lesson to you that you will be more cautious in future while filling up the applications for posts through competitive examinations. You will get to know many more such examinations for which you may concentrate on all the matters. Here you may not get any positive result because it becomes your duty to check it up before submitting which you have ignored to do.
