In AP it is 1% stamp duty on half share in case of equal shares / or on minor share value
You can verify with your local registration Office/SRO

If both of you are in posession of that property then there is no need of court fees, u will have file a simple suit for partition. If u r not in possession then the court fees would be as per ur state schedule.

Dear Kaushik
It is better to go for mutual partition deed and get it regd.,with dist.,sub- registrar.
In Karnataka it will be regd., with Sub-Registrar.It is very cheap and speedy method.

I agree with mr Rajeev, You may do it by way of family settlement deed.

Better to execute a partition Deed and for the same consult some local revenue authorities.
