Passport

Dear Sir,

My fiancé is a Sikh and now he wants to take Baptism, so once he gets converted does he require to change is religion status on his passport… is it necessary? Please advise me

If she wants to change she has to approach the passport officer for necessary changes.

He should get it changed in Passport to avoid any future complications.

Thank you for your reply sir....but if the religion status (Sikh to Christian) is not been made can there be a issue.

There cannot be an issue if the religious status remains the same, as there is the special marriage act, which deals with inter religious marriages.

However, generally speaking, religion is only a matter of convenience to individuals and it is upto him to decide. But you cant be officially sikh practising christianity or Islam, because conversion requires that you give up your name and take a new name and become a member of that church,or mosque etc..etc.
