Playschool & daycare in residential area

(Querist) 22 August 2013 This query is : Resolved
I have set up a playschool & daycare in a residential colony. I own a home in the same colony and have rented a house to set up a daycare & preschool. The society is objecting to the day care & preschool considering it as a "commercial activity". But a daycare & preschool is supposed to be set up in a residential area and not commercial zone. Please advise if a daycare & preschool is an exception to "commercial activity in residential area"

you can run tuition classes in your house . in present case you have taken flat on rent and running a play school . it would be a nuisance to other members as activities are going on for whole day . consider inconvenience caused to other members too

The playschool & daycare is not an inconvenience to any members as it is located at the entrance of the colony and is isolated from the rest of the colony. My question is that a playschool and daycare cannot be set up in a commercial area so is it an exception to "commercial activity in residential area"

you need permission of the society to run a play school and day centre in residential premises .

play school or day school do come within commercial activities which cannot be run without prior written permission of the soceity.

Permission of the society is required provided bye laws of the society does not prevent such activity in the society.
