What is the status of a Power Of Attorney stamped as 'Attested' and singed by Notary on Rs.100 stamp paper from son(living abroad) to the father, for managing the affairs of the flat owned by son ? The said POA is intended only for general purpose and not for sale of property. What is the way out if it needs to be regularised as son is not available immdediately for rectification, if needed. Pl. guide.

If son is living abroad, then his POA should be attested[registered] by registrar otherwise same is of no use for any purpose.

IF"The said POA is intended only for general purpose and not for sale of property."
THEN IT IS VALID,NO NEED TO WORRY.

I agree with Mr.Prabhakar Sir,Power of attorney executed before Notary & it is attested by two witnwsses then it is valid it is not required by law to register POA.Exept sale of property.
