Police harassment

I live in Gurgaon. I had a dispute with maintenance company and RWA. They filed a police complaint against me. I received a call from sub-inspector to reach police station. I immediately went there. Before listening my contentions, he started threartening that I'll put you behind bars & nobody can help you. I called a friend who talked to RWA people to close the matter. After sometime inspector comes out in open area and started shouting at me saying that `I am tedhi khopdi and will just put you inside. You will not be able to breathe even'. They forced me to write a letter of accepting mistake without listening to my contentions.
My query is what should be the right course of action to handle such situations.

The police in India is still having same attitude and working as was pre independence era. Politicians have been using it for them also. Legally the Police has got enough powers and they have been using these illegally also. On the basis of complaint if a case is registered against you on this complaint, you would have to get bail and due to burdened judiciary may take 3-4 years to get rid of it. Money time and peace of mind would be ruined. Thank god, case was not registered and settled at initial level.
Better forget it taking it as bad dream / experience.
You may reach higher police officer against the officer, I doubt they would help you in this case, in response you may have to be ready to face trial on the basis of even same complaint.

In fact During English adm, Police were very discipled, unselfish and honest.
Noiw they are corrupt, have responsibility to collect a khokha p m to be sent to high authority, , otherwise they are trf.
Working under stress, force, corruption is the only way out for them to survive in their respective post,
or they are labelled "INEFFICIENT" TO BRING BUDGETED/ TARGET OF XX CR p.m. FOR HIGHER AUTHORITY, DESERVED TO BE TRF TO REMOTE AREA.
Their Job is to protect Dirty Politicians, Adulterated alcohol sellers, Bar, Criminals, Builders, Goondas who can fill their pocket, so Politics go on. Only Drama of catching Chor, so that they can extract money, weaken the case and earn.
They act as agent to release criminals on bail, part with the money with PP, Compell accused to hire their [Police recommended Advocate only] and share legal fees. Fees charged are 10 times higher than normal, as it is to be shared between Public Prosecutor, Investigating Police Official, Advocate for accused, all Legwork Peons, constable, Court Staff and all.
A Honest will suffer,and will be charged with what he never did..
ADMINISTRATION OF LAW POLICE/ JUSTICE/COURT!!! INDEPENDENT INDIA, WITH DUE LIBERTY, to do whatever you like and get away with it on bribe!!!
