Police not registering fir

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 24 January 2025 This query is : Resolved
My wife came to my home under false pretenses and, along with her father, created a scene by shouting loudly, threatening, and intimidating me. They used the threat of involving the police to forcibly take the jewelry that belonged to my side. They caused such chaos in my home that I had to call the police. Additionally, my laptop that I had given her was not returned. After that, she left me and filed a false 498A case against me.

The disturbance they caused also affected the neighbors, who were bothered by the shouting and chaos.

When I complained to the police about the incident, they did not register an FIR. Five months have passed, and even after sending reminders to higher authorities, no FIR has been registered so far.

Can I post a public video requesting the police to register an FIR against my wife and her father under the relevant sections? I will only make a polite request. Is this okay or not?

This is not a remedy instead it may backfire and you will be under more trouble.
Therefore you may approach judicial magistrate court with a petition seeking direction to concerned police to take proper legal action on your complaint

Please send it to the Superintendent of Police. The Superintendent may appoint a police officer to start an investigation.
