This query is : Resolved
It appears that from 2014, there is an Amendment in Pecuniary Jurisdictions among the district civil Judges as under:- District Judge Rs.Unlimited Civil Judge Snr Rs.15 Lakhs Civil Judge (Jnr) Rs.5 Lakhs Is this true? Is it under CPC Amendment or under those aged old Central Acts? Thanks in advance.

The Civil Judge Junior Division can entertain matters where the value of the subject matter is Rs. 5 lakhs or less than 5 lakhs.
Where the value of the subject matter is more than 5 lakhs then the Civil Judge Senior Division will have the jurisdiction.
Thus, original civil jurisdiction is given only to the CJJD and the CJSD.
The district court doesn't have original civil jurisdiction, except for the IPR matters, etc.
The District Court can hear appeals from the orders/judgments passed by the CJJD and CJSD where the value of the subject matter is less than 1 crore. If the value is more than 1 crore than the Appeal will lie with the High Court.
