problem in getting OBC certificate

Dear Sir,

I am a software engineer working in a private firm.In order to appear for civil service exam I need OBC certificate.

Some of my friends are telling that I cant get the certificate when I am working in job.

It would of great help to me if anyone can suggest the way to get it.

Your friends are wrong. There is no bar for persons in job. You may apply for it at your permanent residential place. Rules may be different according to concerned state. Generally it is obtained from Sub divisional Magistrate on the report of Tahsildar and Lekhpal or municipality records.

If you can establish that you belong to OBC, you ought to be issued the certificate, from the competent authorities. You employment is no bar., Any one can obtain at any point of time.

OBC certificate is given on the basis of one's caste. It is immaterial as to whether one is employed or not.

Apply to your Thahsildar, after necessary inquiry you will be issued certificate.

OBC is different from BC
BC denotes only community
OBC denotes not only community also the economical status.
As such, if ur family income is more than the limit prescribed, u can't get the benefits of OBC.
in that case u will be treatd as OC candidate
