Protecting interest of married daughters in my assets.

(Querist) 29 December 2013 This query is : Resolved
I am blessed with only two loving daughters who are married to dominating husbands. I don't want them to be dependant on their husbands and want to protect their interest in my assets at any cost after my death. Is it possible to do so in a male dominant Hindu society ? Pl. suggest some way so that my assets are not swallowed by their husbands / in laws.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 29 December 2013
If it is your self earned property then you can always give this to your daughter which may take effect now or later.
Male domination, if so, has nothing to do with it.

YOUR DAUGHTERS ARE YOUR LAWFUL SUCCESSORS. AFTER YOUR DEMISE PROPERTY WOULD DEVOLVE ON THEM.
IF YOU DOUBT THEIR HUSBANDS WOULD FORCE THEM
TRANSFER IN THEIR NAME THEN CREATE A TRUST FOR THEIR BENEFIT 'WAQF AL AULAD'

Agree with the advise of expert prabhakar singh ji. You can also put some restriction for its sale for some years in your will or gift deed.

nothing to add more.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 30 December 2013
The advises by learned experts Mr. P. Singh and RK Goyal are suitable, practicable, the author may choose to follow it.
