Purchase of mobile phones through fraud credit card

We have purchased a new mobile through a person (not from the shop) with bill. we have been using this mobile for the last ten months. Now there was a call came from Indore Police that your IMEI no of this mobile traced that this mobile orginally purchased from a credit card by a person under credit card fraud. Police said that a person which is originally purchased this mobile a fraund person and he cheated the orginal person through impersonaisation.
Now what will be my status in this case and what is my fault? Is there any legal boundation against me. Police said that you should hand over the mobile to the police. Thats why I came here for legal expert advice. Kindly advice me what should I do.

You will have to cooperate with the police. In addition of handing over of the mobile, you may ahve to produce the original purchase bill/invoice and also give complete particulars of the person from whom you purchased that. If you fail to provide proper identification of that fraudulent person, the doubt would definitely rest on you for having used the credit card fraudulently.

You are expected to fully cooperate with police officials and prove yourself as a innocent person otherwise you can also be charged under section 411 of Indian Penal Code.

If you do not know that the article of thft article and you while purchasing it took enough precaution to determine its genuineness, you would not be liable for any prosecution.

You have to cooperate with police and satisfied them by invoice of mobile.
