To All the senior, fellow experts My Land phone(BSNL) was out of service since July 2020 till today(18th February,2021). I paid bill upto September 2020 and after that I stopped payment as my phone remain dead. Recently I visit BSNL office (on Saturday,13.2021) and they inform me that if I pay my due bill amount my service will be restored. I paid bill(Rs.1849.00) on15.02.2021. But still today(18.02.2021) my service is not restored. My query is : Can I lodge complain against BSNL (deficiency of service) before consumer commission? One of my friend told me that as BSNL is a Govt undertaking the matter will not stand before consumer commission. If possible please clarify can I go to consumer commission? Regards Abhijit Majumder

Yes, Your case attracts the provisions of CPAct.There are various judgments in which it has been held that complaint against BSNL can be filed for their deficit services.

You can file a case for deficiency of service. But time and effort may not worth it as invariably consumer forum expects your presence for hearing and that may cost you more if you are working. Approach an advocate in your area for right advise based on value of claim you intend to for deficiency of service.

To Respected Sir Krishna Mohan Thanks for your valuable suggestion. My friend suggest me that I can lodge a online complain before district consumer commission. This can be lodged at free of cost. The district consumer commission will call both the parties and settle the matter by conciliation proceeding. Regards Abhijit Majumder
