Recover money given to friend

HI,
I gave money to my friend for business and he is not paying the money.
when ever i ask he will say he will pay, but that day never comes.
All money transactions are done through bank only.
How can i get my money back.
Please let me know

send lawyer legal notice to him to pay back ur money within 3 years of date of payment .

Unless a lawful debt is not to be recovered, there is no use of the cheque.

You can file recovery suit. This may be costly and lengthy procedure.
Better take cheque , if bounced, results would be faster and cheaper.

If you have documentary evidence for having lent loan to him, why wait so long for him to repay, the borrowers of this type will keep dodging you with one or the other reason, it is you who has got to take a drastic step cutting down all the sentiments. Issue him a lawyer's notice immediately demanding return of your money, allow him only 7 days and then file a suit for recovery of money and if the amount is huge, file a petition for ABJ over his property asking him to furnish security towards the principle and interest of the amount.
