You need to notify the change through Gazette.Neverhless, you have to append the copy of the same whenever required.

You cannot change your name in the birth register if your parents had already given your proper name to the registrar of birth.

If your birth register carry your pet name it can be changed by a joint petition of your parents as a one time affair.

If your birth certificate does not carry any name when it was registered immediately after your birth without a name, you can add your name based on your records.

The proper name once recorded in the birth register cannot be changed. It is not something to be tampered with every now and then in accordance with the changing desires of the individuals.

But as advised earlier there is a procedure to do it.

The procedure can be learnt in classroom.
