Requirements to appoint guardianship

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 02 January 2022 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

Due to recent deterioration in health(onset of dementia and chronic liver disease), my father is unable to perform his affairs.
What is the process to appoint my mother as the guardian for the following:
1. Rent out property
2. Manage Bank accounts and make investments
3. Sell old car

It would be sufficient if Power of Attorney could be got executed in favour of your mother.
Advocate Bhartesh goyal (Expert) 02 January 2022
Instead of appointing guardian your father should execute general power of attorney in favour of your mother.

Yes. Guardian is not necessary but your father shall execute a General Power of Attorney in favour of your mother or you. If due to health problems, you may request the Sub Registrar to attend to your house to register the same. Government fees for private attendance shall be paid.

Well analysed, opined and advised by experts, I agree and appreciate.
Who has advised to appoint guardian for your aged and ailing father ? I disagree with such conception.
PoA is the best solution to look after all properties held in his name.
