Some one has filed an application to collectors office under right to information act. he wants information about the details of arms and ammunition our company is having ..
we dont want that to be disclosed as this is a naxalite area so we filed an application before him and showed him the section 8 of the act .. but he is saying that he want some judgment on same...
what can we do to stop him from giving that information.
pls its urgent

if u r a pvt. company, then u can not be compelled to disclose pvt. information.
we ll find few judgments for u.

Your comapany is exempt under section 8 clause 1 of RTI. It is not you who has to give judgement but infact he has to provide a judgement if he go for appeal. you need not to worry.

RTI applies to public authorities, same is defined insection 2(h) kindly go through 2(h) . that apart certain judgments of CIC are there which will clarify the position u may log on to www.cic.gov.in and search for judgment titled National Securities Depository limited dated 19.6.09 issue haS BEEN dealt therein.
