Stamp duty

Dear Sir,

Often i have to draft verious agreement regarding lease, license, sell, property management agreement, joint venture agreement etc. How shall i know the exact stamp paper value in each case. The agreement are executed in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Will it be as per the schedule 1 of the Indian Stamp Act,? Kindly advise.

Yes. Stamp duty payable for a document is to be seen in terms of Schedule I of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899.

But every State Government has an authority to amend the schedule. In A.P thereis what is called Schedule 1A. The duty as per thisschedule is to be paid on all thedocuments. similarly there are amendments to the Schedule I by the state of Maharstra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka. there shoud be such simklar state schedule for West Bengal, Kindly verif
