State govt. employee can be a commission agent

I want to whether a state govt employee can be a commssion agent of Rose valley marketing India pvt Ltd,as he was an agent earlier in the said company and after 1 year he got the state govt job.Plz give me the information.

he has to decide which job to opt. Once joined service of Govt he is not entitled to have income from any other souce. He cannot run business even in the name of family member.

When you take up any assignment/appointment/job in any Govt Department you have to go by the terms of the service rules and the joining/appointment letter would indicate the Service Rules you would be governed by.For central Govt employees it is the Central Civil Servics (CCS) Rules.
Any financial transaction e.g receipt of commission /cheque that is to say any documentary /other evidence of your receiving moneys as commission as consideration for the services rendered can make you liable to disciplinary action by your Employer
