Dear Mr. Rajan,
I hope you know that succession certificate is granted for movable goods like shares, bank accounts, fixed deposits etc. etc.
While the duration will depend upon how much cases are pending in each of the Court, normally it will take 3 to 6 months in Saket District Court, to obtain Succession Certificate in respect of a clear and uncontested cases . If the case for succession certificate is a contested one then it will take longer time.

engage a local lawyer in delhi like Mr ramchandran . you can get his number on lawyers club site .

If you can't wait 1 year then file writ petition before High Court under article 227 for speedy disposal of case.

Your case is already pending so there is no need to replace your lawyer and trust upon the advice of your lawyer only who is dealing your case. He is best master to teach you as he is completely known to every fact of your case which is not available for us.

Succession certificates are issued for movable properties.

The normal time in uncontested case may also be not less than 3 to 6 months as told .

Contested may take even more time, say, year or even more.

You are planning to or you have filed is the confusion labored in mind of every one except me and mr. Ramachandran as makkad could not read your very first sentence"i wish to get succession certificate in the name of my mother".
