Sir/madam,
pls advise me-can I file criminal suit for defamation agst my wife as she charged me with false allegation of embezzlement of Rs 5 lacs from a company in divorce petition filed by her. two years lapsed from the dt.of allegation.I was outsourced by another co.(I have good character cerificate from this co.) and assigned temporary work in the co.with which allegation made.this co.says for filing suit and it will present truth while investigation.There is no offence like such. Is witness from my side necesurry during filing and progress of case.

Don't depend upon verbal assurances by the company. Character certificate from the company cannot be treated as a certificate of integrity and honesty.
However, if you have some documentary evidence about your services having been outsourced with remuneration decided for work and you did the job for the company, you have a very good chance to prove the allegation false and dafamation meted out of that to you.
