Under the Bar Council of India, Part VI, Chap. II, section VII- Restrictions on other employments, certain employments to be taken up or not to be taken have been described, however, on perusal of the section there is no bar on an advocate acting as a trustee of a NGO, hence an advocate can take up the trusteeship.
