Hi

can we buy stamp papers in the name of power agent for making sale deed. is it valid?

If in the instrument of power of attorney, you stated the details that the power holder can sale/purchase the particular property belongs to you/another then the power of attorney holder can purchase the stamp papers in his name.

Stamp papers for a sale deed are generally purchased in the name of the buyer unless otherwise agreed by the parties; in such a case stamp papers can be purchased in the name of the Agent.
