Wbsedcl under the electricity act , 2003

(Querist) 06 April 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,
Please advise the procedure regarding claiming of excess payment made by us to WBSEDCL in respect of faulty (Over) energy billing by the Regional Office of WBSEDCL from the period Sept' 2010 to May' 2012.The distribution company (WBSEDCL) ultimately admit the excess billing raised by them but they want to adjust the excess amount paid by us on subsequent bills, which we do not agree. Needless to mention here that our excess payment is approx Rs 20 lakhs. Please intimate us with any Judgment of Learned Court regarding the above matter.
Thanks & Regds

You can file case in the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission or Writ in the High Court.

If your representation is turned down then you have every right to go to State consumer Commission demanding the refund of the excess amount with commercial interest at par which is charged by the company as per their rules with cost.

nothing more to add except that you need to have evidence of faulty meter.
