Dear Kiran Sir,

Many of my classmates got admission in LL.M. saying we can have at least a master degree in law which can help us to become lecturer in law college nothing more than that.

Is they are true? LL.M only helps us to become lecturer or can also help in other way like giving judicial exam.

By studying LL.M. you may acquire extended knowledge of Law and may be eligible to teach Law in any Law Colleges. But it is not a main criteria for practicing law. For Judicial Exams, your LL.B. degree from recognized university and the precribed number of years of practice is required.

If you are currently unemployed or underemployed, doing an LLM not only adds to your skill base, but also keeps you from having a gaping hole in your CV.

If you have been out of the legal market for some time, an LLM can provide a useful combination of retraining and credential enhancement. For example, if you stepped away from the practice of law to start a company or to raise young children, you may be out of touch with current developments in your field “ or have forgotten too much of what you once knew “ to practise with confidence. Employers generally expect you to be productive from the first day, but law schools are more forgiving: the staleness of your credentials is unlikely to be a major issue for them.

There are many different reasons for taking an LLM; for instance, changing career or employer. An LLM are a good way of acquiring the right skills to help you move in the direction you want to go.

There are number of advantages, we can not count and mention here. It is possible for you to join LL.M don't waste time join immediately.

If you wants to join judiciary you will get incriment 4 it in many states. In practice this degree is not going to help you. Beside if you r preparing 4 judiciay it will add on to your knowledge even subjects r not in syllabus in many states but it helps. Say constitution although it is not in the syllabus of judiciary but questions are still asked in PT and interview.
One thing you will have to work hard to get good marks in KU. M doing 2nd year this time but i scored only 54% in first year but my many of friends got reappear in many subject. All the best to you.
