Your Company is a private company and they have to right to decide the number of working hours as per their policy. However the policy should not lead to undue exploitation. According to me their policy is reasonable. In the world of privatization you can not go on contesting each and every act of the company. If you are not interested, you leave the job. Contesting on trivial matters will not fetch you anything except loosing money time and your credibility.

No company can be allowed to formulate its policy to the utter disregard to the general law of the land and against public policy. The working hours have duly been duly prescribed under Industrial Disputes Act which come to 48 hours weekly so ay violation thereto can be got agitated to local Labour Inspector.
