I.P.C. 406 is a stridhan case in which husband breaches trust of wife. If a husband is in possession of stridhan then wife can obtain possession of her articles filing this case. If wife is in possession of stridhan then there is no way this case will go far there is a Supreme court or high court judgement on this. So the complainant has to be careful before filing this case.

Since the offence is punishable with 3 years of punishment, so reading section 468(2)(c) which provides that the offences punishable with 3 years the limitation period is 3 years only......
