The land on which my uncle has built a house, is registered on my grandfather's (my grandfather had 5 sons including my uncle and 4 daughters) name as per 7/12 extract. After my grandfather's death, my uncle added his name on the 7/12 extract as one of the legal heirs, without any approval or signatures from his brothers & sisters. Now when we want to add my dad's name, the talati is asking to get signatures of all the heirs to update the name. Is this a new rule? If no, how did my uncle get his name updated without taking the signatures of his brothers / sisters (legal heirs)?
