Adoption rules

Dear Friends,

I have got 2 simple queries and would appreciate you could answer the same asap

- Can I adopt a 14 years old girl (my age is 30)

- Can a 55 years old lady adopt a 38 years old woman

1. NO.   If a male Adopt a female girl the age different between the two should be NOT LESS THAN 21 YEARS .    Ref;- Hindu Adoption and Maintanance Act ( Section 11(iii) ) . (You should be 21 years older then the girl)

2.No male or female Older than 15 years of age can be Adopted.  Ref;- Hindu Adoption and Maintanance Act ( Section 10 (iv) ).

Thanks For your reply. Regarding the 1st point, what if I get married to her mother? then would it be possible to adopt the girl?

If you married her mother than no need of adoption...
