The Child should not be more than 15 years of age and should not have been married. The child should not have been adopted earlier. If the custom of the prospective person/couple adopting the child is such that they can adopt a child above the age of 15 anadopt a married child, these two conditions can be waived strictly if such Custom prevails in the community of the couple intending to adopt.
For the parents, there is no specific mention of upper age limit. But practicality is to be taken into consideration. If a child of about 1 or 2 years is being adopted by a couple in their 80s, it may not be proper as they may not be able to take care of the child till maturity is attained.

Yes, it is possible. But in the process the agency facilitating the adoption verifies all the pros and cons duly verifying your credentials and your ability to bring up such child after adoption.
