Agricultural land

Hi I am an NRI and i would like to come back to India (karnataka state) and get into agriculture. For this I would like to buy some purely agricultural land. I am hearing that income should not be greater than 2lacs p.a to buy an agricultural land. Being an NRI, i have not payed income tax for the past 10 years and neither filed tax returns. Is there any legal hurdles in here? Waiting for your expert advice. Regards Prasanna

Karnataka Govt passed The Karnataka Land Reforms (Amendment) Bill, 2015 to acquir land by persons not engaged in agriculture from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
