AILET - 2012 to b.a.,ll.b.(hons.) / ll.m / ph.d. program

 

Applications are invited from The National Law University, New Delhi for All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for the admission into BA, LL.B(Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D. Programs conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna for the Academic Year 2012 – 2013.
For FIVE-YEAR BA, LL.B (Hons.): 

Eligibility: 
Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent Examination with 50% of marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2012 can also apply. 

Age: Below 21 years as on 1 July, 2012 (23 years in case of SC/ST candidates). 

Total Seats: 80 [70 seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit]. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination. 



Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Persons with Disabilities. 

Note: One additional seat for Kashmiri Migrants after approval from Governing Council of the University. The candidates have to apply, appear in the Entrance Test and fulfill the eligibility criteria as applicable. 



For LL.M: 

Eligibility: 
LL.B or an equivalent Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability). The candidates appearing in final LL.B examination in April/May, 2012 can also apply. 



Total Seats: 20 + 5 seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from Entrance Test. 

Reservation: 15% for SC Candidates, 7.5% for ST Candidates, 3% for Persons with Disabilities. 



For PhD.: 

Eligibility: 
To be admitted to the candidature for a Doctoral degree an applicant should have: 

(i) Master's Degree in law of any recognized university securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent or

(ii) Masters Degree with M.Phil in social sciences or humanities of any recognized university with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent, provided that candidates with qualifications in social sciences and humanities may be admitted to the program if the research they wish to pursue interface with the discipline of law with a special focus on Public Policy or Law or

(iii) Degree in law and Ph.D. in any discipline or

(iv) Judge of any State High Court in India with three years experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.



How to Apply: 

Interested candidates may apply along demand Draft of Rs. 2500/ (Rs.1000/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) through Demand draft, drawn in favour of "Registrar, NLU, New Delhi", payable at New Delhi. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC / ST category are exempted from application fee.
